Growth on Blackwater Bridge Rubble Site 15-G
One of the important aspects of the surveying the Field Station has done on this site is the vast amounts of growth observed on this fairly new reef. The structure underneath all of this coverage was once the clean, concrete bridge pilings dropped here two years ago. Now, algae, soft corals, and sponges have turned the 'debris' into a well-diversed home for the fish that inhabit it. This photo was taken on 7/15/99 by member Don Boose at the Blackwater Bridge Rubble Site 15-G.
